SECURITY ENGINEER

Are you a skilled and proactive Security Engineer? Join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our systems, networks, and data. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring security measures to protect our technology infrastructure from potential threats and vulnerabilities. Your expertise in cybersecurity, risk assessment, and security best practices will be pivotal in safeguarding our company's assets.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with IT and development teams to assess security requirements and implement effective security measures.
Design and implement security solutions to protect systems, networks, and data from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Monitor network traffic, systems logs, and security alerts to identify and respond to security incidents.
Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses.
Configure and maintain security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines for the company.
Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices and protocols.
Stay updated about the latest cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and security technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant work experience can be considered.
Proven experience as a Security Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
Familiarity with network protocols, encryption, and security controls.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Knowledge of cloud security and virtualisation technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address security challenges.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker) are a plus.
